What Did I Do Before I Got Into Radio: Was pursuing my communications degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Go Skyhawks!

The Worst Job I Ever Had:  Restocked magazines and other print media for stores like Hobby Lobby. You can only stare at so many covers of fake smiling middle-aged women holding up something they crocheted before you go a little bit crazy.

Jeff Gordon Proves He Can Drive

Thursday, February 27, 2014 10:15am

As long as I can remember, I've grown up having my eyes glued to a TV screen watching cars to turn left, then left again, and left again... So living legends of the racetrack like Jeff Gordon are men to be admired and respected. Well when he did his first Pepsi Max commercial, you know the one where he pranked the car salesman, he was accused of faking it.

What does Jeff Gordon do in response? Prove he can drive in the best prank possible. I won't spoil it. Here's the full video:

So fair warning B Country, if you doubt a racing great, you might be in for the ride of your life!

Billy Ray Cyrus Comeback?

Wednesday, February 12, 2014 11:07am

So... this dropped the other day... I think I'll let the video do the talking on this one.

Does this mark the comeback of Billy Ray Cyrus? Will we see Achy Breaky 3?! Only time will tell...

It's Super Bowl Sunday!!!

Sunday, February 2, 2014 11:53am

It's Super Bowl Sunday B Country! Possibly the only sporting event where most people watch the commercials more than the actual game! Haha.

So in honor of the commercials that you're sure to enjoy tonight, here's one that I think will be a big hit with everyone!

Go ahead you know you want to... Awwwww!

Have fun but be safe tonight!

Carrie Underwood Endorses Makeup and Here's Some Country Music Ladies Without Any

Friday, January 24, 2014 10:57am

Attention B Country Ladies!!! You might have a new favorite makeup thanks to one lady in country music. Superstar Carrie Underwood has been announced as the Almay makeup brand’s Global Brand Ambassador, meaning she will be the face and voice of all Almay products. This includes the newest 2014 launches, and appearing in global, multimedia campaigns spanning television, print, in-store, digital and social platforms.

So with Carrie Underwood being active in the makeup scene, I thought it would be interesting to show ya'll a side by side comparison of some ladies in country music with and without their makeup on. I think all three of these ladies look gorgeous either way but it's still interesting to see.

First up is Miss "We Are Never Getting Back Together" T Swift!

Here's the lady of Lady Antebellum Hillary Scott!

And last but not least, Blake Shelton's better half, Miranda Lambert.

Again, all three of these ladies sure can rock it with or without the makeup! Lets wait and see whose next to endorse a beauty product. You know Blake Shelton probably uses a decent amount of hair gel! Hahaha

Parmalee on the Come Up

Tuesday, January 21, 2014 10:09am

I find myself being drawn to more and more groups within country music. And one of my favorite's right now is for sure Parmalee. These guys have burst onto the scene recently with their smash "Carolina" and are looking to continue their success with "Close Your Eyes".

Here's the audio if you haven't heard the single yet. I challenge you to close your eyes as you listen to really appreciate the song's lyrics. See the synergy with the title?:

Also here's an exclusive short interview with Taste of Country where the guys explain "Close Your Eyes". :

Parmalee's talent has not gone unnoticed. They're currently up for Best New Artist Award at the ACMs!

Their debut album Feels Like Carolina is currently available! So if you haven't supported these Carolina boys I highly recommend you do so!

Parmalee is up for some major awards in 2014, including the Best New Artist Award at the 2014 ACMs. Right now, they’re semi-finalists, with fans deciding who moves on to the finals.

The North Carolina-raised foursome is also up for New Artist of the Year at the 2014 Taste of Country Awards. Fans have until Feb. 11 to decide the winner in that category.

On the (Sam) Hunt for a Rising Country Music Star in 2014...

Tuesday, January 14, 2014 9:49am

One of my goals with this blog is to highlight country music artists that you may not have heard on the radio just yet. What's funny about this post is that the guy I'm telling you about you've actually heard on the radio already just not his actual voice.

Sam Hunt is an up and comer this year who already has major writing credits under his belt in the form of Kenny Chesney's "Come Over" and Billy Currington's "We Are Tonight". So go ahead and jump on the bandwagon before many more people discover him!

Be sure and check out his FREE, yes FREE, acoustic mixtape on his website http://www.samhunt.com/ for the download and tour info. And if you like what you hear be sure and support Sam by buying his single "Raised On It" which is currently on iTunes.

Here's the video for it:

I'm keeping this one short and sweet but that's because I'm sure I'll be blogging about Sam again here in the near future!

New Year, New Blog, and New Country!

Monday, January 13, 2014 9:43am

It's a new year so why not start off with a new blog?! I've been with the B for awhile now but here's a fresh start to giving ya'll some New Country content that I might not get around to sharing with you on-air.To kick it off here's one of my favorite groups, American Young, and an amazing acoustic version of their single "Love Is War"! - Joel
